Who is the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders
Shreyas Iyer
The captain of Kolkata Knight Riders is Shreyas Iyer. Shreyas Iyer is a high-profile player in the Indian Premier League at the moment.
In the last few years, the franchise has looked pretty average. While they are fan favourites, they have struggled to find success. They are hoping to do better in the upcoming season.
The team was reliant on its old core in the last season. Though the team did not qualify for the playoffs, they were seventh in the points table. It failed to find a settled opening pair.
At the end of the day, KKR had a decent bowling lineup, with Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine leading the way. However, death bowling is a constant concern for the franchise.
The Kolkata Knight Riders have a strong batting line-up. Moreover, the team is led by captain Shreyas Iyer. Moreover, the team will be coached by Chandrakant Pandit.
Besides, the team will also have the services of Brendon McCullum as its batting coach. The team has also retained players like Shardul Thakur and Narayan Jagadeesan.
Jagadeesan
Narayan Jagadeesan is a Tamil Nadu wicketkeeper who was picked up by Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL Auction 2023. He is a former player of Chennai Super Kings, who has been in great form in the domestic circuit.
Narayan Jagadeesan has a world record for highest List A score. His 277 against Arunachal Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy was the highest ever score by a male batsman in the List A competition.
The KKR picked up the Tamil Nadu batsman for Rs 90 lakh. This is the biggest buy of the mini auction. It was followed by another buy from the same squad, Vaibhav Arora.
Narayan Jagadeesan will probably keep the wicket for KKR in the coming years. He has a lot to offer. He has scored five centuries in eight matches. He is also the first Indian to score hundreds in five straight innings.
KKR will want to include him in their top order as well. He is an exciting prospect who has been in good form in the TNPL recently.
The Bengal team also bought Bangladesh keeper-battler Litton Das. He will probably get the bulk of his games for KKR. In addition, he has the ability to exploit field restrictions.
KKR also purchased David Wiese from Namibia for a whopping Rs 1 crore. They have three overseas players, including Suyash Sharma, Vaibhav Arora and Litton Das. However, they may be short in the batting department.
As a result, they will have to pick and choose who they bring to the team. For example, they will have to consider a spinner.
After a strong performance in the IPL 2022, KKR failed to reach the playoffs. They finished seventh in the 10-team competition.

Shardul Thakur
If you are an Indian cricket fan, you must be aware of all-rounder Shardul Thakur. He has been part of the standby list for the upcoming T20 World Cup. As a result, he has been picked to play three matches against New Zealand.
Last year, KKR purchased Shardul Thakur from Delhi Capitals for INR 20 lakh. During his stint with the franchise, he contributed with his bat and bowled 15 wickets in 14 matches. In the IPL, he bagged 120 runs at a strike rate of almost 138.
Since the start of the IPL 2023 trading window, KKR have signed three players. It is now time for the teams to finalise their retained players.
After the trade, the Kolkata team has a total of 14 players. The team is led by skipper Shreyas Iyer and includes champion players. Apart from that, the team is also eyeing backups.
Among the players, there is a good balance in the playing XI. There are some promising youngsters. Anukul Roy is a spinner, while Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy are fast bowlers.
However, the bowling department has lost its rhythm since last year. Ravi Thakur has a decent bat and can be a match-winner with the ball on his day.
KKR are also planning to release Aaron Finch before the upcoming mini auction. This makes them the most active franchise in the IPL 2023 trading window.
Earlier, KKR traded for Locke Ferguson and Rahmanullah Gurbaz. The two players are likely to be included in the starting line-up.
Despite missing some big names like Aaron Finch, Harshit Rana, Suyash Sharma, and Rasikh Salam, KKR have managed to make a few deals. They have released Shivam Mavi, Mohammad Nabi, and Chamika Karunaratne.
KKR’s spin bowling attack
The Kolkata Knight Riders have a good team but they are also making some changes to the squad. They bought back Ishank Jaggi, Rinku Singh and Shubman Gill.
The Knight Readers, led by Iyer, won a title in 2010. Aakash Chopra, a former player for KKR, gave his opinion on the team’s pace attack.
KKR’s bowling attack is a mix of fast bowlers, medium pacers and spinners. There is enough depth for a team of this size. In terms of a spinner, the team has Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy, who are both very good.
However, the team’s bowling department has some weaknesses. They have a lack of a fast death bowler. This might be a big concern.
KKR’s batting is largely dependent on the performances of players like Shubman Gill and Shakib Al Hasan. They have a good power hitting attack with Andre Russell and Tim Southee.
Their bowling attack is also solid. The team has Umesh Yadav and Shivam Mavi. But the team’s spinners are yet to show what they can do.
Some of their players have had disappointing seasons. Pat Cummins and Alex Hales are both out of action. These two will miss the first three matches.
As for the batting, the team has some potential options in the middle order. They have Shreyas Iyer, who can be a lead batsman. Jonny Bairstow has been in excellent form. Despite this, KKR will have to make smart investments to succeed.
KKR has been the only team to win back-to-back titles in IPL. Despite having a strong team, they have had some bad runs. They have won six out of their 14 games.
RCB vs KKR 2023 Match 6 Prediction
The rivalry between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore has been going on for several years. The two teams are both in the hunt for the IPL title. Their matches have been close. RCB and KKR have been involved in an interesting head to head record.
In the first match of the tournament, KKR defeated the defending champions Chennai Super Kings by six wickets. It was a close game and the team showed that they have a solid batting line up. Despite the win, the team had a disappointing start to the IPL 2022 season.
KKR has been in good form in the second half of the tournament. They have won their last two games. This will give them the confidence to perform against the RCB in tomorrow’s match.
The last time these two met was in the Eliminator of the IPL 2021 in Sharjah. RCB took the lead in this match but failed to deliver a slick performance.
Despite the RCB’s efforts, the side failed to secure a top two finish in the competition. Although the team performed well, their bowling wasn’t quite up to the task.
Ajinkya Rahane made a decent contribution to the team’s total. He hit a quick 32 off just 14 balls.
The RCB were unable to defend a score of 205. But they did manage to score a whopping 206 runs.
KKR batted very well in the first innings to chase down a modest total. Sunil Narine took a couple of wickets.
The IPL 2023 match between RCB and KKR will be played at the DY Patil Cricket Stadium in Mumbai. The stadium is famous for its turning wicket.
